Prayers

Saint Basil, great servant of God, help everyone, and me too. Great defender of the Orthodox faith, defend also us who hold thy holy faith, and approach thee with hope. Great hierarch of God, pray to God the Almighty for all thy people, and at last for me too, unworthy and least of all. Knight of Tvrdoš and ascetic of Ostrog, save us from dangers visible and invisible. The Serbian land kindled thee as an eternal candle before the throne of the Living God, so now light our paths and dispel our sorrow. With prayers and tears thou didst warm the cold cave of Ostrog, so now warm our hearts too with the Spirit of God, that we may be saved and glorify God Most High and thee, Saint of God. From all corners of the world the sick and afflicted have come to thy reliquary, and thou hast helped them: driven away demons, broken the devil's bonds, and granted people health of soul and body. So help now too, baptized and unbaptized, as always, everyone, and me too. Thou wast a reconciler of quarreling brothers; reconcile now also all who are at odds, make brothers of the estranged, gladden the sorrowful, tame the willful, heal the sick. Saint Basil the Wonderworker and our spiritual Father, hear and heed thy spiritual children in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
