Bishop and enlightener of Armenia. Around the year 301, he baptized King Tiridates III and led the Armenian people to Christianity, making Armenia the first nation to adopt Christianity as its state religion. He founded the see of Etchmiadzin and became the first Catholicos of the Armenian Church.
