Prayer Before and After Work

Before beginning work Most merciful Lord, Who Thyself hast said that without Thee we can do nothing good, be also to me a merciful helper, and grant that this labor of mine and the work I begin be according to Thy holy will. Grant, O Lord, Lover of honest laborers and charitable workers, that the grace of Thy Holy Spirit may strengthen this work of our hands, that it may be to the glory of Thy holy name, and to the benefit and good of us and our neighbors. For every good deed is established by Thy will and Thy blessing, blessed Lord, guide of our salvation and progress. Bless, therefore, O Lord, that we may successfully bring this work of ours to its end and completion, to the glory of Thy holy name and to the salvation of our souls and bodies. To Thee, Giver of every good thing, and Worker of our salvation, be glory and praise unto all ages. Amen. After finishing work Blessed be Thy holy name, Lord Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, Who hast strengthened our weak powers to finish today this our work and labor. Thou, most merciful Christ, art the fullness of every good and the reward of every God-pleasing labor and toil: fill our hearts with joy and gladness, and strengthen and bless the works of our hands, to the glory of Thy holy name, and of Thy Father without beginning, and of Thy Divine Spirit.
