Prayer to the Guardian Angel

Angel of Christ, my holy guardian, and protector of my soul and body, forgive me all wherein I have sinned this day, and deliver me from every wile of the enemy, that I may not anger my God by any sin; but pray for me, a sinner and unworthy servant, that thou mayest present me worthy of the goodness and mercy of the All-holy Trinity, and of the Mother of my Lord Jesus Christ, and of all the Saints. Amen. A second prayer to the Guardian Angel Holy Angel of Christ, falling down before thee I pray thee, my holy Guardian, who wast given to me sinful from holy baptism, to keep my soul and body. By my laziness and my bad habits I have angered thy most pure light, and driven thee from me by every foul deed: lies, slanders, envy, condemnation, pride, disobedience, hatred of brethren, resentment, love of money, adultery, wrath, avarice, insatiable gluttony, drunkenness, idle talk, evil and cunning thoughts, arrogance and lustful madness, having the will for every carnal desire. Oh, what evil inclinations of mine, such as are not even in irrational beasts! How canst thou look upon me, or come near me like a stinking dog? With what eyes wilt thou, Angel of Christ, look upon me when I have become so terribly entangled in vile deeds? How shall I still be able to ask forgiveness for my bitter, evil and wicked deeds, into which I fall day and night and every hour? But I pray thee, falling down before thee, my holy Guardian: have mercy on me, a sinner and unworthy servant of thine (name), be my helper and protector against my evil adversary, by thy holy prayers, and make me a partaker of the kingdom of God with all the Saints, always, now and ever and unto all ages. Amen.
